Saying my son likes to fish is like saying people like to breathe. We are fortunate enough to live in an area with in biking distance of two different lakes. He fishes at both of them practically everyday. Certainly fishing areas are not accessible or convenient for every family but once your child tries it they will be hooked. I personally feel bad for the fish but I lately I’ve been thinking that there are worse things to catch!

We have had long talks about being appreciative and gentle with the fish. It’s opened up a world of dialog about conservation, respecting nature and doing our part to save the planet.

Cooking up some fun with your kids is worthwhile even if you don’t know what you’re doing in the kitchen. Your kids have no idea that you’re not a MasterChef and if it tastes horrible you can always blame it on them. If you actually are a good cook then why haven’t you invited us over by now?

Bubbles are absolutely magical. When I was a kid we had an 8oz bottle and a little plastic stick with a circle.
