Find out if you can vote from home. More and more states are allowing folks to vote from home either by mail or on the computer. Believe it or not there is no statistical evidence whatsoever that shows this promotes, or ever has promoted, voter fraud.
There are many resources online that will tell you exactly what is happening in your state.
Between now and this fall, keep your eye out and make your voting gameplan!
The problem with voting along party lines is that you may be helping your tribe at the expense of your own community or family. For this reason many people vote against their own best interests. If you actually research the pros and cons of what each politician is planning on doing when they get elected you might be surprised who actually deserves your vote.
We don’t think that you’re as closed-minded as the internet does. It is no secret that when you surf through the web or click through social media that a ton of information about you is being collected. It knows who your friends are and what you shop for. Most importantly it makes decisions about the type of person you are and what you would like to view. While that sounds very nice it starts to manifest itself by only providing you with posts and ads for things it thinks you will agree with and like. Very quickly it will stop showing you news stories that are outside of what the algorithms have decided you’ll agree with. It will also eliminate posts or ads that can provide you with honest and balanced information. Information that might change your mind about how you think on a particular subject or about a particular candidate.
You can say that all politicians are the same, act like your vote does not matter or just choose to bury your head in the sand. These are not valid excuses nor are they in keeping with the American Spirit and the gift of Democracy. Instead hold your head up high and see which candidate is actually most in line with the things you agree with. Then shake the crabs out of your hair and go vote!
People have fought and died for your right to vote. In many countries they do not have fair and Democratic elections so please don’t take your vote for granted. Also do not get distracted and wait for the last minute. These days there are so many mitigating circumstances that the last minute may actually end up being too late.
No matter how many pieces there are in a puzzle if one of them is missing it is not complete. You should look at your vote in this way.
