Sharing Spa Days with your partner are pampering, rejuvenating and create a great level of intimacy. If you aren’t comfortable going to a spa just yet (or if they’re still closed where you live), there are tons of treatments you can do at home for each other that will set the scene for a very steamy night! Grab some candles and start rubbing!

Rejuvenating Body Scrub:

Make Your Own:  For a nourishing body scrub, mix together some brown sugar and olive oil, using roughly double the amount of brown sugar as oil. You can also add in some manuka honey, which is beneficial for both dry and acne-prone skin types, and some lemon or orange essential oil for an uplifting scent. Use the scrub in the shower, rubbing in circular motions over the body and paying attention to rough spots such as the elbows.

Steam Facial:

Steaming your face is a good way to cleanse your pores, helping to promote clear and glowing skin. For a steam treatment at home, fill a bowl with boiled water and leave to cool slightly so that it is not hot enough to burn your skin. Add a couple of drops of essential oils, such as tea tree oil for acne-prone skin, lavender oil for oily skin or rose absolute oil for dry skin. Steam your face for a few minutes by leaning over the bowl with a towel covering your head to trap the steam. You can follow a steam treatment with a purifying clay mask or simply some toner and moisturizer.

Facial Mask: Clark’s Botanicals

Milk Bath

Take a leaf out of Cleopatra’s book and relax in a cleansing and nourishing milk bath. The lactic acid in milk will soften your skin, and milk baths can also be soothing for those with eczema or psoriasis. Add a few cups of whole milk or some milk powder to your bathwater, mix in some essential oils and honey (optional) then float rose petals on top for a luxurious and indulgent treat.

Aromatherapy Shower

While baths are perfect for relaxing, if you don’t have access to one or aren’t much of a bath person, you can still create a spa-like experience for your shower. Choose a relaxing essential oil such as lavender or an uplifting oil such as neroli and add a few drops to a damp flannel or sponge. Place this on the floor in front of you as you shower to allow the steam to release the scents.

What better way to let your Grad know that you believe their life will be an adventure with many exciting chapters along the way? With all of the screen time and video games it’s hard to get kids back to the basics. What if you could seamlessly morph some of that screen time into a good old-fashioned art project?

Hatching the plan: While Grandma or Grandpa innocently Zooms with your child they mention that they’ve been drawing some pictures but don’t have crayons, colored pencils or paints and would really like your young ones help coloring it in.

They tell your child to go get a piece of paper and a pencil. Then Grandma or Grandpa holds up their artwork against the screen. Now your child holds up their paper against the screen and traces the artwork. Once it’s traced they can color it in however they want to.

When it’s finished it can be mailed to the grandparents as a terrific keepsake of their wonderful project together. You can even add a decorative frame. Imagine how excited your child will be to see their artwork hanging up in the background the next time you Zoom.

My fifteen-year-old son has had enough with not being able to see his friends in person. We needed a compromise.

Basketball is to up-close-and-personal and baseball has the kids sharing all the same apparatus. What to do, what to do? Then like an alien landing from outer space came the idea of the game of Disc Golf.

Players don’t need to be near each other or use the same discs but can still enjoy the bonding and competition that comes from group sports activities…the perfect Physical Distancing sport!

If you aren’t familiar, Disc Golf is the perfect combination of Frisbee, Hiking, Fun and Exercise. Players set up targets, aim and throw their disks and the player who hits the target in the least amount of throws wins.You don’t need to spend hundreds (or even tens!) on equipment, you can set up a course anywhere and the best part is there is no-contact. Pro-tip: Players can also use football gloves which gives them more control of the discs while adding an extra layer of protection.

Although this game is not on most people’s radar there are parks all over America that have already have goals set up for game play. You can also set up a course in your own yard. Identify a fence post, a lawn ornament or set things around as targets. The beauty of setting up your own course is that it can be constantly changing and no two games will be the same! You can play for as long as short as you like and have fun and make memories in the process.
